How these numbers work
An attempt starts with your first input. Completed ÷ started gives the win rate, including unfinished attempts. A streak counts consecutive completed practice attempts; starting another attempt after an unfinished one breaks it. It is not a daily streak.
Word counts and average scores use completed attempts. Each attempt records its first win once, including after Undo, Redo or reloading. Every full solve earns 220 points, so fewer words is the useful performance comparison. Restart opens a new attempt on the same board.

Dictionary & word rules
274,014 English entries, including inflections and uncommon words. Words must contain at least three letters, use this board, alternate sides, and continue the previous word. Source: word-list 4.1.0 (MIT), plus the verified entry JAILBROKEN. This is an independent word list, not the official NYT dictionary; no dictionary contains every possible English word.
One square. Twelve letters. Your word chain.
Make words of at least three letters, changing sides at every letter. Begin each new word with the previous word’s final letter. Cover all twelve to win.
Play at your own pace
Type or tap letters, correct a move with Undo and Redo, and save your progress in this browser. Sound, light and dark themes, and board colors are yours to choose.
This version contains one practice board. Restart replays the same board; the answers page is a dated sample.

Why a Real Word Can Be Rejected
Distinguish spelling issues, board constraints and dictionary limits before changing your word.
Before your first word
Do I need an account?
No. Progress and practice statistics stay in this browser. Clearing site data removes them.
What if a word is rejected?
Read the message under Submit word. It explains spelling, dictionary or board-rule issues. Your typed word stays available to edit.
Can I share without spoiling the solution?
Yes. After winning, Share result includes your word count, score and our branding, without your solution words.
